Our host, JP and Sego prepared the breakfast for us. It was the bread and jam which made by themselves. In Viet Nam, I have never tried the bread and jam for breakfast, so it was quite new experience for me.
JP asked us to join a walk in 30 minutes with Kimy. Kimy is their daughter, few months year old, very cute. She was very exciting every morning to see all neighbors. We had a chance to practice little Indonesia with locals who we met on the way. “Bagi” is morning and “Salamat Bagi” is good morning, “Terima Kashi” is thank you that was only words which I could remember in the whole of Indonesia trip.
After early walking in the morning, JP & Sego had to go to work, so we would travel on our own. JP was very thoughtful while he spent time to guide us overall Jakarta and gave us the map. We decided to take a bus to center, visit National Museum, Monas, China Town, some mosques.
From JP house, we took a local bus to Blok M, then another Tranjakarta bus to National Museum. It was really hard to find the bus in Blok M, as there are so many bus lines at station. We still got lost even already asked few locals how to find the bus to National Museum. To go in Tranjakarta bus, you need to buy one card (this card could use for train too, but you need one card each person for train while for bus, you can use one card for two people). There is no checking staff at bus line, you go through by scanning the card.
It was hardly imaged that travelling for less than 10 km in more than 1 hour. The traffic was really jam in the morning. We got to National Museum almost 11:00 am. I introduced me as Viet Nam tour guide, and need one English guide to tell me inside Museum. Adisty was our guide, she is very knowledgeable, later we knew she was the daughter of Museum’s director. It took at least 3 hours to visit the museum, we decided to come back the museum after lunch.
We had lunch with Shini, one CSer I met before in Sai Gon. It was the first time, I ate Mc Donald.
After lunch, we took the taxi back to Museum. It was really hard to get BLUE BIRD taxi so we took another brand taxi. He asked me to pay for OPEN fee very high that was not normally which wrote on the side of the taxi door. So be careful to take another strange name taxi, you better asked how much you had to pay for the OPEN fee.
I enjoyed very much the museum, which I would recommend for anyone who visited Jakarta, you had to visit National Museum under the guide of Adisty.
After museum, we walked to Monas, the monument located in front of National Museum. I was very surprised to see “Hoa Phượng”, popular red flowers in my city Hai Phong, quite a lot inside Monas. We waited to see the sunset before going back to our host house.
It was a long day travel, but we learned so much things.
